Kellie Lockwood

Kellie began her journey with SIMBA around 2016 when her husband, David, talked her into joining a trail maintenance session one Saturday morning. As an avid road cyclist who had never considered mountain biking, she was surprised to find herself thinking it could be fun to try riding that trail she had just worked on. She started out riding a Kona her husband had purchased as his first mountain bike, and after about six months of trying, she was hooked!  Now, when she and David aren’t riding or working on the trails at Versailles State Park, they are likely traveling to other mountain bike destinations.

Kellie is passionate about her volunteer work with SIMBA and about the trails at Versailles State Park. She has been a regular member of the Trail Crew, the Secretary of the Board, and now President. When you see her out on the trails riding her watermelon-pink bike named Candy, be sure to say, “Hello!”
