Marc "Squatch" Laker

Marc began mountain biking in 2012 while living in Mexico. Upon returning to the U.S. he began riding at VSP and joined the trail maintenance group and helped put together the first Hassmer Fest that same year. Marc incorporated SIMBA in the fall of 2015 then worked to secure our 501(c)(3) which we obtained in 2016. Marc also co-designed the SIMBA logo with his brother, Andrew, that same year.
When Marc isn’t mountain biking, he is building and maintaining his bikes and performing trail maintenance. Fun fact about Marc, he has a SIMBA tattoo on one calf and a Sasquatch on the other calf. He is also well known for riding alone and starting very early in the morning in the dark. He’s quite elusive but if you happen to see him, please cautiously approach and say “hello” while maintaining eye contact. 😊
